Despite loss, Joe Mixon rumbles for 100+ yards and 2 TD at Green Bay

Joe Mixon was a bright spot in Sunday's 24-22 road loss to the Packers.

The veteran running back carried 25 times for 115 yards and two touchdowns at Green Bay, getting loose for four of the Texans' seven longest plays from scrimmage.

Mixon doled out the credit to the blocking in front of him for his success on Sunday, and explained how he was able to crack the century mark, again, on the ground.

"Being in sync with the ol-line and those boys were creating lanes," Mixon said. "They were doing whatever they had to do to make it shake. The tight ends, they did a hell of a job blocking. Same with our fullback. We were all in sync."

Mixon broke out for a 32-yarder in the second quarter, which proved to be the Texans' longest play of the day on offense. He added a 17-yarder in the fourth quarter that moved Houston from its own 38 to the Packers' 45-yard line.

Both of his scores came in the second quarter of the game.

He now has 401 yards in four games played in 2024, and he's gone for more than 100 yards in a contest in three of those four games.
