There are more mocks and more of the same results for the Texans in the latest Mock Draft Tracker.
Just like last week, most experts predict Houston will select either Alabama OL Evan Neal or Notre Dame DB Kyle Hamilton. The former was mocked to the Texans on nine of 28 (32%) mock drafts. Hamilton, meanwhile, was tabbed to the Texans on eight of 28 (29%) mocks.
The Texans own the third overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, which begins Thursday, April 28 in Las Vegas. In total, they have nine selections, with four in the Top 80.
Five different mock drafts had Oregon DE Kayvon Thibodeaux headed to Houston. In three seasons with the Ducks, the 6-5, 250-lb Thibodeaux racked up 19 sacks and 35.5 tackles for loss.
17 (61%) mock drafts had a defensive player getting selected by the Texans, while 11 (39%) saw Houston going with offensive help.
In his last gathering with the media, though, Texans General Manager Nick Caserio hinted that he and the franchise would explore the idea of trading the third overall pick.
