Chargers Head Coach Jim Harbaugh on Texans Quarterback C.J. Stroud: "He's a great player. All the talent is there, and the courage. So many times I've seen a defender come right at him and he just stands in there. He lets them get close enough, knows they're going to hit him, and then he's able to get the ball up, over them, around them. We're talking 16, 18 yard in-breaking, dig routes, or routes to the sideline. He's a great guy and tremendous competitor."
Chargers Defensive Coordinator Jesse Minter on Stroud: "He's got great arm talent. He's a rhythm player. A really electric talent. He can sit back there and take hits and deliver throws. He can stand in pressure and get rid of the ball over people. He can make every throw. He throws an elite deep ball on some of the shot type of plays that they do. He can throw on the run going both directions. He can avoid rushers. There's not a lot that he can't do. We have our hands full. Major challenge. Much respect to C.J.. He's developed into a top, top tier type of guy in this league."
Minter on Texans Offensive Coordinator Bobby Slowik: "I think their offensive coordinator does a great job just doing what they do well. With tons of motions and different ways to formation you to try to create leverage in the run game. They do a great job scheming up shot plays. Plays for C.J. to get on the move. Plays for him to get in rhythm and get rid of the ball quick."
Harbaugh on the Texans Defense: "They're scary good. They're thriving on getting a lot of interceptions. Really good with pressure. They've got really good players. They're really well-coached. It's a really good scheme. They know it well. They play it well. They play it fast. I'm sure there's a lot of thinking going on, but they're anticipating, and they're a step-and-a-half heading in the right direction the way they're able to intuitively read what an offense is trying to do. Will Anderson is playing great. (Henry) To'oTo'o has over 100 tackles. Really good front. Opportunistic on the back end. A safety (Calen Bullock) with five interceptions. A corner (Derek Stingley, Jr.) with five interceptions. Really good team defense. It's a big challenge for us."
Chargers Offensive Coordinator Greg Roman on the Texans Defense: "It's definitely the fastest defense we've played this year. It might be the best. They've got great players. They're really well-coached. They have a scheme they believe in that works for them. Their personnel fits their scheme and their scheme fits their personnel. It's really obvious they've got a lot of confidence in that."
Chargers Quarterback Justin Herbert on the Texans Defense: "They've done such a great job of getting after the passer and causing turnovers. So you've got to be smart. You've got understand where the hots (hot reads) are, get the ball out quickly and avoid those sacks."
Roman on Texans Defensive Ends Danielle Hunter and Will Anderson, Jr.: "They keep you up at night, these two guys. Hunter is savvy. Just an unbelievable career to this point. All-Pro player. And if he's not, he should be. Then, you look over at Anderson: I know they did some wheeling and dealing to get him in the Draft. They felt he was that good, and they were probably right. This guy's a force to be reckoned with off the edge. They're really playing at a high level."
