Joe Mixon had been out since getting injured in Week 2's win over Chicago, but he returned with a bang at New England.
On the Texans' second drive of the game, he capped the possession with a 10-yard touchdown catch from quarterback C.J. Stroud.
The Ka'imi Fairbairn extra point gave the Texans a 14-0 lead with 3:13 remaining in the opening quarter.
At that point in the game, Mixon had carried nine times for 16 yards to go with his 10-yard scoring grab.
It was Stroud's second scoring pass of the day, and it capped a possession that went eight plays for 39 yards and lasted 4:21.
