Friday Night Football is everything in Sour Lake, Texas - home to the Hardin-Jefferson Hawks. After recovering from Hurricane Harvey in 2017, Sour Lake was hit by Hurricane Imelda only two year later. Much of the town, including Hardin-Jefferson High School, flooded and lost everything. Coach Fogo reached out to the Texans and received a grant to rebuild their athletic facilities.

Lastly, his annual free football camp, "Camp Mike T", is reflective of Thomas' dedication to empower young Houstonians while providing them with the additional resources to become impactful citizens in today's society.
