HOUSTON – Houston Texans K Ka'imi Fairbairn has been named AFC Special Teams Player of the Week, the NFL announced today. Fairbairn was named Player of the Week following yet another record-setting performance that helped lead the team to a 23-20 victory over the Buffalo Bills to move the team to 4-1 on the season.

In Week 5, Fairbairn connected on all three field goals attempts and totaled 11 points on the afternoon, surpassing Kris Brown to become the Texans' all-time leading scorer with 773 points tallied over his career. Two of his three field goals were once again from beyond 50 yards, marking his seventh and eighth such field goals made this season. His eight field goals made from at least 50 yards are the most in a single season in franchise history, currently lead the NFL, and are the most in NFL history through the first five games of a season.

With :02 seconds remaining in the final frame of the contest, Fairbairn booted a 59-yard field goal through the uprights as time expired to defeat the Bills, becoming the 12th kicker in NFL history to connect on a game-winning field goal from at least 59 yards. It also marked the longest game-winning field goal in club lore.

With Fairbairn's fourth such career honor, it also equals the 59th time a Texan has been named Player of the Week and the 19th time a special teams player has garnered the award.
