Got a question about the Texans? Life in general? Drew Dougherty's your guy. He's been with the Texans since 2009 and is chock full of meaningful, as well as generally useless, information. Fire away by clicking HERE!
Marshall Poe: Dear Drew, Will Tim Kelly create an offensive game plan around Davis Mills since he is a rookie?
DD: Marshall, Kelly will certainly adjust what they'll do offensively with Mills as opposed to Tyrod Taylor. Each has different skill sets, and Taylor has a decade's more of experience as a professional. So yes, the plan of attack will certainly look different for Mills. Kelly's done a great job this season accentuating his players' strengths, and I believe he'll craft up something to take advantage of what Mills and the rest of the offense can do best.
Michael Tester: Dear Drew, When can we expect to see Jon Greenard get more snaps at DE?
DD: Tomorrow, perhaps. Greenard's been inactive through the first two weeks, but I think there's a good chance he's a go on Thursday night.
Adam Cook: Dear Drew, Will the defense be tackling the right way by using their arms and wrapping up the offensive player instead of trying for the big hit?
DD: Great question, Adam. In his time with the media on Tuesday, Defensive Coordinator Lovie Smith was asked about the missed tackles in the loss at Cleveland. I'll let his answer to them be my answer for you...
"We address tackling every day we go on the football field. Just some days, you miss tackles; it's no more than that. It's not like we haven't been preaching it, haven't been working on tackling. Some days, you miss tackles. I think it's as simple as that. You want to get back out on the football field as much as anything. It's critical though and there were too many. It's one thing to miss a tackle and just a great play by an offensive player; it's another just not to wrap up and some of those things that we did. That's not us. We haven't seen that since we have been here and hopefully won't see it again."
Pepe Garza: Dear Drew, Will the Texans look to getting the ball out on offense faster with cross routes, tight ends to help Mills confidence grow?
DD: I'm not sure Mills really lacks any confidence. That's one thing Head Coach David Culley has always praised in the rookie, and in listening to Mills, he doesn't ever really seem fazed, but I certainly think your ideas about getting the ball out quickly, etc., could be used. Kelly will try his best to put Mills in the most advantageous situation possible.
Horacio Palacios, Jr.: Dear Drew, With the one-helmet rule gone from the NFL starting next season, do you see the Texans getting a second lid color or design? I would like to see the secondary logo on a white helmet. That would be sweet!
DD: I'd bank on the Texans having an alternate helmet, yes. I could also see it be a white one, but with the current logo.
Damon Mitchell: Dear Drew, Is there any interest in a Cam Newton or other QB in order to get us through this period?
DD: I'm sure General Manager Nick Caserio is keeping tabs on the quarterbacks available on the open market. But I don't see Houston going for Newton. Tyrod Taylor isn't lost for the season, and the team is enthused by what they've seen from Mills so far. They want to see more from him, and the next month should be a good chance at evaluating what he can do in the future.
