Got a question about the Texans? Life in general? Drew Dougherty's your guy. He's been with the Texans since 2009 and is chock full of meaningful, as well as generally useless, information. Fire away by clicking HERE!
Brikvah: Dear Drew, Has Tyrod Taylor been able to connect downfield consistently? Or is he often throwing to the RBs?
DD: Yes, he's been able to connect downfield. He looked especially crisp during Saturday night's work, but on the whole, he hasn't been afraid to go deep. We'll see how often he does it during game action, but in addition to incorporating the throws to backs and tight ends, Taylor has been successful from time-to-time downfield.
David: Dear Drew, How is the O-line coming together?
DD: It looks like the offensive line will be improved. O-line coach James Campen is working with an All-Pro caliber left tackle in Laremy Tunsil, and an interesting array of talent to the right of him. Justin Britt has been impressive at center, and the group of Tytus Howard, Max Scharping, Charlie Heck, Roderick Johnson and Justin McRae, amongst others, has been fiercely competitive. I think you'll see a better O-line in 2021 than you did over the last few years.
Javari in Miami: Dear Drew, Which young player are you most excited to see in the preseason?
DD: The list is long, for a variety of reasons. Receiver Nico Collins has had "wow" moments throughout camp, and it'll be fun to see if that continues in game action. Can Roy Lopez cause the same sort of problems for opposing offensive lines, that he's caused for the Texans from time-to-time? Lonnie Johnson's progression at the safety position will be something to watch.
