Got a question about the Texans?
Life in general?
Drew Dougherty's your guy.
He's been with the Texans since 2009 and is chock full of meaningful, as well as generally useless, information. Fire away by clicking HERE.
Roy Garza: Dear Drew, Where does Nico Collins rank in receiving yards compared to all of our other great receivers we've had in the past?
DD: It was great to get Collins back in the mix on Monday night, and he didn't waste any time in making his presence—and importance—felt. He tied Tank Dell for the team lead with 54 receiving yards against the Cowboys, had a 33-yarder that took the Texans into the red zone, and were it not for a penalty, opened the game with a 77-yard touchdown reception.
All time, he's seventh in franchise history with 2,845 receiving yards. With 42 receiving yards, he'll move past Brandin Cooks into sixth place. Andre Johnson leads the way with 13,597 yards, and DeAndre Hopkins is second with 8.602.
He's tied with Arian Foster at eighth on the all-time touchdown catches list with 14.
Steve Temple: Dear Drew, What is the status of Christian Harris?
DD: He's expected back at some point this season. Both Executive Vice President/General Manager Nick Caserio and Head Coach DeMeco Ryans have said he'll return to play in 2024, but neither has given an exact timetable. His return, whenever it is, will be a welcome one, and it'll strengthen what's been a strong linebacker corps this year.
***Congrats, Steve: your question is the Texas Lottery Scratchoffs-winning question. Someone from the organization will soon be in contact with you about it.***
Kelvin Jackson: Dear Drew, Will we get a first round bye?
DD: It's possible, Kelvin, but it would take a lot for that to happen. Only the top team from each conference gets a first round bye. Right now, that would be the Chiefs, who have a 9-1 record. The Texans are 7-4, so they're three games behind Kansas City. The Chargers, Bills and Steelers are also currently ahead of the Texans in the standings, and Houston is tied with the Ravens, record-wise. They'll host Baltimore on Christmas Day.
Roger Mendiola: Dear Drew, How far can we go if we're healthy?
DD: Very far. Possibly all the way to a Super Bowl. But let's just worry about beating the Titans on Sunday, for right now.
Duke Wade: Dear Drew, We have two capable tight ends. Why don't we utilize them more or have plays that emphasize them in tight situations when we need to move the ball?
DD: Dalton Schultz has the third most targets on the team with 55 this season. He was tied with Collins and Dell on Monday with seven targets, and he actually had the most catches in that game with five. I think because the run game has been more productive with Joe Mixon, and the passing attack had Stefon Diggs added to the Collins and Dell mix, it might've seemed like Shultz wasn't involved as much. But he's been there, and I think you'll see him keep producing here down the home stretch of the season.
Christian Heinz: Dear Drew, Do you think the Texans will play international next year?
DD: It would make sense, Christian. The Texans haven't played abroad since 2019 when they thumped the Jaguars in London.
