Got a question about the Texans?
Life in general?
Drew Dougherty's your guy.
He's been with the Texans since 2009 and is chock full of meaningful, as well as generally useless, information. Fire away by clicking HERE.
Jeremy Ramirez: Dear Drew, Do you think we'll see a shuffling of the O-line?
DD: Based off what Head Coach DeMeco Ryans said in his Monday press conference, there will be some sort of change(s).
There were many questions this week similar to Jeremy's. The Texans passing attack struggled on Sunday at Green Bay, and Ryans was asked if anything would change with regards to pass protection. He didn't rule it out.
"For me, everything is on the table when it comes to it has to get fixed," Ryans said.
He made a point of saying the entire operation—offensive line, backs, receivers and tight ends—had to be "on the same page" to make things click as a unit.
Richard Reyna: Dear Drew, Do you think the Texans will make a move at the trade deadline for a player that can help the team either on the offensive or defensive side?
DD: I could see it happening, and just last week the Texans traded running back Cam Akers to the Vikings. The trade deadline is Tuesday, November 5 (that's also Election Day, so go be a good American and cast your vote) and Executive Vice President/General Manager Nick Caserio has never been shy about saying he and his staff will do everything they can, any way they can, to improve the roster.
***Richard, your question won you Texas Lottery Scratchoff tickets. Someone from the organization will soon be in contact with you about this.***
John Cinque: Dear Drew, Why didn't DeMeco Ryans challenge the incomplete pass ruling at approximately 9:00 minutes remaining in the 2nd quarter? The replay shown once on TV suggested that the pass may have been a lateral and was recovered by the Texans. At a minimum a timeout could have been called allowing the personnel upstairs more time to examine the replay.
DD: Ryans said Monday that the initial reaction from assistant coaches and personnel upstairs was that the pass traveled forward. But in retrospect, Ryans would like that call back.
"Looking back at it, should I have challenged it: Yes," Ryans said Monday. "Hindsight is always 20/20, so you're looking back like, 'Should I throw the challenge?' Maybe, throw it there. So, look at myself too like wish I would've thrown it there just to force them to make a decision."
Joe Harrington: Dear Drew, The first game of the season with the rooftop open, it was awesome. I sit up in 633 and thought it might be a little warmer than usual, but with the AC on it was perfect football weather. Do the Texans have plans for opening the roof more often, weather permitting?
DD: Joe, if the weather is right, they'll open the roof. But the Texans don't arbitrarily look at the calendar and decide 'We will open the roof on November 15,' etc. If it's above 80 degrees or below 60 degrees, they aren't likely to open it for a day game.
David Hyde; Dear Drew, When are we supposed to get Nico Collins back?
DD: David, Collins went on the injured reserve prior to the Week 6 win at New England, and must sit out a minimum of four games, total. He was out at Green Bay, and can't play Sunday against the Colts or on Halloween at the Jets.
Therefore, if he's healthy, he would be eligible to return for the Sunday-nighter at home against the Lions on November 10.
Brendan Neragupta: Dear Drew, How does someone get a job with the Texans?
DD: Brendan, first things first: make sure you've created a profile on teamworkonline.com. It's a jobsite for sports careers, and the Texans use it for hiring. Then, check out the job openings by scrolling to the very bottom of our homepage—HoustonTexans.com—and click on "Employment" which is underneath the "Connect with Us" column.
Good luck!
